Liverpool FC has been confirmed as the latest team to join the EA Sports portfolio, joining the likes of Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, PSG, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and FC Barcelona in a three-year deal.
The partnership will see FIFA 14, the latest edition of EA Sports’ popular football game set for release in September, feature 3D-scanned members of the Liverpool squad.
As part of the deal, EA Sports are set to offer fans attending Anfield the chance to play FIFA 14 at designated booths, while Liverpool fans will also be able to download a special cover of the game featuring three players from the team.
Liverpool’s commercial chief Billy Hogan said in a statement: ‘We know that so many of our Liverpool family, including fans and players, play EA Sports FIFA regularly so this new partnership will help bring the club closer to our fans in innovative new ways.’
EA Sports has also captured 360 degree 3D digital head scan images of the Liverpool FC team, to get the most accurate visuals of players including Steven Gerrard, Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho (pictured), which will be featured in the latest game when it releases on 27th September.
