Real-time sports update platform LiveScore has announced Cristiano Ronaldo as its Official Global Brand Ambassador.
The deal will see the five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo join forces with the platform as it aims to evolve its sports media offering.
LiveScore has made the move ahead of launching a new global creative campaign in the build-up to UEFA EURO 2020, which will now include the Portugal star and reigning European Champion. LiveScore says it will launch its first TV spot, as well as using Ronaldo’s image across its digital inventory and content.
The platform has signed media deals to stream live matches from leagues around Europe including Spain and Italy this season, while it has also served as LaLiga’s Official Scoring Partner.
It has also announced the signing of the Ranks FC podcast, hosted by former Bleacher Report football journalists Dean Jones and Sam Tighe, which it has added to the Watch section of its app.
“In a year that has seen LiveScore rapidly evolve as a global sports media business, this landmark new relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo is without doubt the biggest moment so far,” said Ric Leask, Marketing Director, LiveScore.
“There is simply no bigger sportsperson – past or present – than Cristiano Ronaldo, who continues to captivate fans around the world with his brilliance on the pitch.
“With a world record 777 career goals and 31 club and international honours, we believe he truly is the ‘Greatest of all Time’. We should know, as LiveScore has been there to bring news of every goal to millions of fans around the world. Combined with the fact that his game is built on speed, reliability and simplicity, key strengths also synonymous with the LiveScore brand, there could be no more authentic and better fit for our business. We can’t wait to kick-off our partnership and bring our global audience closer than ever to the GOAT.”
