Organisers for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 have unveiled a new, official logo for the Games as they prepare to increase build-up once Tokyo 2020 has taken place.
The emblem brings together three elements, two related to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and one related to France – the gold medal, the flame and Marianne, a symbol of the French Republic – to symbolise both the Games and French culture.
The logo was unveiled by 800 runners whose movements were tracked in order to ‘draw’ the logo across the streets of Paris at 20:24 on Monday 21st October.

This is the first time that a Games emblem will not differ between the Olympic and Paralympic Games, with the logo featuring either the Olympic Rings or Paralympic Agitos underneath the symbol itself.
With font inspired by the Art Deco movement, whose designs are still a defining characteristic of the city of Paris, Games organisers say the logo aims to embody the inclusivity and the revolutionary spirit that the defines the Olympic Games while also amplifying the host city and nation. The design has also been created with sustainability in mind, featuring a digital dark mode to use less energy on viewers’ screens.
Tony Estanguet, President, Organising Committee, Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, said: “It’s a logo that says who we are, what Paris 2024 is, what our heritage is, our DNA. Our ambition, too. We want to organise a different Games, one that does things differently and puts people at the heart of the project.”
Pierre-Olivier Beckers-Vieujant, IOC Coordination Commission Chair for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 said: “I congratulate Paris 2024 on the launch of their new emblem. It perfectly reflects their vision and desire to put people at the heart of the Olympic Games Paris 2024. The combination of the gold medal, the Olympic flame and Marianne brings together the values, history and French touch that will make these Olympic Games truly special. I believe that this innovative design will be quickly recognised around the world and be a wonderful calling card for the Olympic Games Paris 2024.”
