London Irish has announced a new four-year sponsorship deal with building firm Crest Nicholson, which will see the Surrey-based company’s logo appear on the chest of the Aviva Premiership team’s playing jerseys for all league, LV=Cup and Amlin Challenge Cup games.

The club has a primary front-of-shirt sponsorship deal in place with recycling company Powerday, which expires at the end of the 2013/14 season.

Crest Nicholson will also partner with the club to redevelop their Sunbury training ground and launch a range of community initiatives in the local area.

Stephen Stone, the chief executive of Crest Nicholson, said: ‘We have been working with London Irish on the redevelopment proposals for the training ground for a number of months now, and our sponsorship of the team for the 2013 to 2017 seasons makes sense for a number of reasons. Not only are we keen to maintain our working partnership, but the club also has a significant following in a number of areas where we are launching major developments.’

Jim O’Toole, the commercial director at London Irish who took up the role on a permanent basis last month, added: ‘London Irish already has an excellent working relationship with Crest Nicholson and we are looking forward to implementing a meticulously planned marketing partnership that has been moulded around the company’s very specific business objectives.’
