Former Premiership Rugby club London Irish has been bought out of administration by a consortium led by former Formula 1 team owner Eddie Jordan.

Irish entered administration in 2023 after being removed from the Premiership due to unpaid wages, with debts of around £30m under the club’s previous owner Mick Crossan.

London Irish have subsequently not competed in any league since.

The team’s new ownership group, named The Jordan Associates, has stated its intention to return London Irish to professional competition, and intends to introduce a fan ownership model, allowing supporters to invest in the club.

The group has confirmed that the club’s playing base will remain in West London, though a permanent home venue has not been specified.

Jordan previously led the Jordan Grand Prix F1 team between 1991 and 2005 before working as a television pundit when the BBC held Formula 1 broadcasting rights.
