London Sport has launched #LDNMovesMe, a three-month digital initiative for Londoners to celebrate their own physical activity, whether that be a weekend walk, a morning yoga class, or a post-work football match.

To aid London Sport’s ongoing vision to get one million Londoners more active by 2020 and make London the most physically active city in the world, its new #LDNMovesMe campaign will look to inspire people to show their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter networks what #LDNMovesMe means to them.

The best content will also be shared on London Sport social channels plus featured on the campaign microsite: ldnmovesme.com.

The campaign is also offering downloadable marketing packs on the microsite to enable communities to get involved.

To help introduce the campaign, Parkour Generations hosted an event alongside GoodGym and Our Parks at The Chainstore Parkour Academy, inviting guests to attend an exclusive training session led by freerunner Francois ‘Forrest’ Mahop. GoodGym was named Community Programme of the Year at the BT Sport Industry Awards 2016, with Our Parks shortlisted in the same category for the BT Sport Industry Awards 2017

Mahop said: “Sports like parkour that can take to the streets are vital in providing access to health and fitness activities for everyone, everywhere. Whatever activity means to you, the #LDNMovesMe campaign is there to motivate you to do more of what you love, and there’s a whole lot of people that’ll be around to celebrate with you when you do.”

Born Barikor, founder of Our Parks, said: “As a campaign partner, we’re really looking forward to getting involved. Our members love the team building opportunities and fun side of fitness our sessions bring, and the recognition of their success inspires them to push on further. With London Sport shining a light on physical activity in the City, we’ll step up and show how our members get out and about.”

Peter Fitzboydon, chief executive of London Sport, said: “An active London is a thriving one and through #LDNMovesMe, we aim to build a community of Londoners who are healthier, happier, and more inspired to participate.

“We’ve long seen the selfie as a prominent fixture in social conversations, particularly around health and fitness. Helping to bring an element of inspiration to these social conversations is an important way to tap into the incredibly varied ways that Londoners choose to be active – and to help celebrate the impact it has on our great city.”
