Strong winds have forced an evacuation at Lord’s Cricket Ground with the ground
sustaining major structural damage to certain sections.
The Tavern Stand section of the ground, which also houses the indoor cricket
centre, has been substantially damaged by the high winds after parts of the roof
were blown off.
It is unclear at this point, how much damage the ground has sustained or how
much it will cost to repair it.
Two motorists were treated at the scene for minor injuries when sections of
the roof were blown onto parked cars below the ground in St John’s Wood Road.
