After ten years at the helm, popular TV presenter Tim Lovejoy is to leave Sky
Sports’ cult ‘Soccer AM’ show that launched his career.
Sky confirmed that Lovejoy would not be continuing his role when the show
returns for the new 2007/08 season leaving co-host Helen Chamberlain to continue
with a new presenting partner who is yet to be confirmed.
Lovejoy is believed to be leaving Soccer AM to present a new entertainment
show for Simon Fuller’s 19 TV – the pilot for which is currently being pitched
to the various UK broadcasters.
Soccer AM, which attracts around 300,000 viewers to Sky Sports 1 every
Saturday morning, launched Lovejoy’s career leading to stints as a radio DJ and
other hosting jobs on terrestrial television.
