The Lawn Tennis Association has continued to defy the economic downturn announcing two new lucrative sponsorship deals with major global brands Nike and InterContinental Hotel Group.

Nike has signed up to become the official clothing supplier of the LTA whilst hotel chain, InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) will become the preferred hotel supplier of British Tennis.

Nike’s involvement will extend across a wide range of British Tennis including apparel supply for coaching staff, tennis development teams together with all event staff and officials.

This also includes clothing all officials at the AEGON Championships at the Queen’s Club from 2010.

As the preferred hotel partner, the InterContinental Hotel Group will support a number of the LTA’s major events providing accommodation across their portfolio of brands including Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and InterContinental.

The group will also be offering exclusive rates across their hotel group providing significant savings for British Tennis members, parents, players and coaches.

The arrangement adds to the IHG’s growing sports partnership portfolio having recently announced itself as a Tier 2 Partner to the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The additions of the two brands adds to the LTA’s growing sponsorship portfolio having signed a lucrative £25m five-year deal with financial services brand AEGON last year.
