Lucozade Ribena Suntory Ltd, the maker of Lucozade Sport, has announced it has retained Speed Communications to manage the PR strategy in two of its key sponsorship categories; football and running.
This summer will focus on delivering the brand’s football campaign, which will enable Lucozade Sport to activate sponsorships with its key ambassadors; Steven Gerrard, Gareth Bale and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlin, as well as partnerships with The Football Association and Powerleague.
Speed will also be leveraging Lucozade Sport’s sponsorships within running including The Nova Great Run Series and the forthcoming Virgin Money London Marathon in April.
The account team of five will be led by senior publicist Lindsey Evans, reporting into managing director, Kate Bosomworth.
Victoria Morgan, marketing manager at Lucozade Sport, said: ‘Speed Communications has a wealth of experience in the sports industry, creating award winning campaigns and events. We are really looking forward to working with them, especially over the summer where football will be a big focus for us.’
Bosomworth added: ‘We are thrilled to be working with Lucozade Sport at such an important time in the football calendar and we look forward to activating what we think will be a landmark campaign.’
Lucozade Sport recently announced the launch of their £10 million “Fuel to Rule” campaign to support the growth of the brand.
The campaign will also include digital, in-store and experiential activation in the build up to a FIFA World Cup summer. With the focus on sport for many this year, the “Fuel to Rule” campaign follows the recently launched Lucozade Sport Brazilian Guava flavor.
