Insurance and investment group LV= has renewed its sponsorship of domestic cricket’s County Championship after reaching an agreement with the England and Wales Cricket Board.
LV=, who will continue as title sponsor of the four-day county cricket competition until 2012, will take the length of the association to eight years.
The mutual financial services group first started sponsoring cricket in 2002 under its Frizzell brand.
The dramatic conclusion to the 2008 LV= County Championship was one of the closest to date with Durham clinching an exciting victory over Kent in the final round to take the LV= County Championship Division One honours.
The 2009 LV= County Championship starts on Wednesday 15th April and runs until Wednesday 23rd September, with a break during May and early June.
The first round of fixtures sees ten teams in action including newly promoted Warwickshire and Worcestershire, both eager to make their mark in Division One.
