Sports management and consulting business ARETÉ has announced the signing of Olympic hockey gold medalist Maddie Hinch.
ARETÉ will develop Hinch’s commercial portfolio and personal profile in the wake of her and the hockey team’s success in Rio. The 28-year-old joins a roster of clients which includes Daniel Ricciardo, Mark Cavendish and Nathan Redmond.
Hinch and her teammates beat the Netherlands to Olympic gold on penalties in the Rio Olympics final, with Hinch saving all four penalties in her position as goalkeeper.
The West Sussex native started playing hockey at school after being discovered on the rounder’s field. Hinch made her international debut against Germany in 2008 and has 45 caps for Great Britain.
CEO Simon Bayliff said: “The ARETÉ team is very excited to be working with Maddie. She is an athlete with incredible talent and determination which she demonstrated on the world stage in Rio. Women’s sport is gathering momentum in this country after the success at the Games and the upcoming hockey World Cup in 2018. Maddie’s likeability, intelligence and ambition mean that she has the credentials to become a strong role model and leader for women’s sport, and we are looking forward to building her brand as an athlete.”
Maddie Hinch said: “As you can imagine life has changed drastically for me after Rio and I started looking for a management company to take my career to the next level. After meeting the team at ARETÉ, it felt like a natural fit; it’s amazing to be included in the elite group of athletes they represent.”
