Formula One fans are set to be able to get cheaper tickets for next year’s Malaysian Grand Prix as organisers target a race day audience of at least 100,000.
A crowd of 98,000 watched Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel win the Grand Prix at the Sepang International circuit over the Easter weekend.
Circuit chief executive, Razlan Razali, said: ‘My hope was to get 100,000 to come on race day and we were just a bit short of reaching the target. We have to work on volume to get the fans in and my hope is to see the stands filled in future Malaysian GPs.’
Razali also said that the state-owned circuit will also look at upgrading its facilities: ‘The plan is to look at improving the facilities and upgrading the infrastructure for the next few years.’
