Manchester City has expanded its sponsorship portfolio in Asia after announcing a new partnership with Astra Otoparts, Indonesia’s largest automotive component group of companies, who will become an official regional partner of the club.

The new deal will see Astra Otoparts, who produce premium automotive parts for over 12,000 retailers across Indonesia, collaborate with the Barclays Premier League club on a range of promotional activities.

These activities will include digital and television advertising, competitions to win exclusive merchandise and Manchester City experiences, as well as the introduction of co-branded merchandise.

Commenting on the launch of this new partnership Yusak Kristian, director of Astra Otoparts said: “Football is a favourite sport for many people in Indonesia, regardless of age or demographic. Therefore, having a partnership with Manchester City Football Club will allow us to get closer to our potential consumers and to strengthen our commitment to globally introducing our brands, ASPIRA and GS Astra.

“Manchester City and Astra Otoparts share a deep brand synergy, we both believe in quality, integrity, and the importance of innovation. We look forward to this collaboration bringing positive outcomes for both Manchester City and Astra Otoparts.”

Omar Berrada, group commercial director for City Football Marketing, which brokers Manchester City’s commercial partnerships, added: “We are delighted to announce Manchester City’s new partnership with Astra Otoparts and to welcome them to our growing partner community in South East Asia. As a widely respected brand in Indonesia, Astra Otoparts’ market leading products duly reflect Manchester City’s commitment to top tier, innovative performances on and off the pitch.

“Over the course of this partnership we look forward to working with Astra Otoparts using our global football presence as a platform on which fans and consumers can get closer both to the Club and to Astra Otoparts’ products and services.”

Despite dropping out of the Barclays Premier League title race, the club kept their UEFA Champions League hopes alive last night, after Fernandinho’s deflected goal earned Manchester City an away draw in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final at Paris St-Germain.
