Former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra is the latest name to be linked
with a takeover bid for Manchester City.

Thaksin, who made an unsuccessful bid to buy Liverpool three years ago, has
been granted access to the club’s accounts and his advisers will carry out due
diligence before reporting their findings to him.

Thaksin is believed to be preparing a £100m bid for the club which will
outstrip that tabled by rival and former City player Ray Ranson last week.

The club is believed to favour the Thai entrepreneur’s bid over Ranson’s on
both a monetary and logistical front.
