Manchester United has signed a new global sponsorship deal with Marathonbet ahead of the new season, which will see the gaming company become the club’s betting partner in all markets worldwide, barring the US, China, Macau and Hong Kong.

Marathonbet replaces Bwin, whose £2.4m per year deal expired last month.

As part of the new agreement, Marathonbet will have access to United’s first team players and club legends for marketing purposes, while the brand will receive exposure throughout Old Trafford and across the club’s digital platforms.

The partnership is Marathonbet’s second major sponsorship agreement in the Premier League this summer, following a similar agreement with Liverpool announced last month.

Richard Arnold, the club’s group managing director, commented: “Manchester United has a global presence with fans all over the world and our partners help us to engage with them in a range of innovative ways.

“Marathonbet already operates in over 20 languages and understands the importance we put on operating on a global scale. Through our partnership, we hope to bring to fans exclusive content, access to bespoke player and legends interviews as well as competitive betting odds.”

Marathonbet CEO, Stan Reoutt, added: “Recently, Marathonbet has made great strides towards being at the forefront of football betting and this partnership cements our aims as a brand. Manchester United is one of the most recognisable names in the world, let alone in world football and this announcement is a clear marker of our global plans for Marathonbet.”
