Premier League club Manchester United has pledged to raise at least £1m for children’s charity UNICEF.??
The club has partnered with global charity UNICEF for the last decade and has benefited more than 2.2 million children worldwide.
The additional £1m commitment is the latest stage of the long-term partnership that will continue to ensure children’s rights are upheld.??
One of the first countries to receive funding from the new £1m commitment will be Senegal where the partnership will equip 35 child survival centers with essential equipment.??
UNICEF ambassador and Manchester United player Ryan Giggs said: ‘Last year I travelled with UNICEF to Sierra Leone and I saw how hard it is for children to even survive when they live in such incredible poverty. This is just wrong, and I’m so pleased that we are continuing to work with UNICEF to help put it right.’
