Man Utd Registers Revenue Boost
New Barclays Premier League champions Manchester United has revealed a 30% rise in commercial revenue in its latest quarterly financial report.
Turnover in the three months up to March 2011 for Manchester United Ltd increased to £75.2m – up 1% compared to the same period last year.
Commercial revenues for the period totalled £24.9m, taking the nine-month total to £75.3m.
Latest figures suggest that the new champions, who also have a Champions League Final with Barcelona coming up, could break the £100m mark for the first time, when the full-year results are released.
A spokesperson for the club said: ‘The strength of the new commercial strategy is demonstrated in very strong revenue growth. The combination of global partnerships and deals that relate to individual countries has delivered a significant rise in income’.
United became England’s most successful side on Saturday, claiming their 19th domestic league title with a 1-1 draw at Blackburn Rovers, overtaking Liverpool.
