Manchester United has announced a new commercial deal with Korean-based online games developer and publisher Nexon, and also unveiled its new away kit for 2015/16.
The partnership establishes Nexon as the United’s first social football gaming partner in Korea, where the club claims to have 15 million followers.
Nexon will oversee a Korean version of the EA Sports FIFA Online game, complete with Manchester United branding and gameplay.
Former United players including Sir Bobby Charlton, Dennis Law, Bryan Robson, Andy Cole and South Korea international Park Ji-sung will also feature as additional elements within the game.
Manchester United’s group managing director Richard Arnold said: “Korea is an extremely important country for Manchester United and we are pleased to be teaming up with Nexon to bring our Korean fans closer the club they so passionately support. Nexon’s expertise in creating innovative and exciting game content makes them the ideal partner for Manchester United and we look forward to sharing with fans the latest in gaming technology.”
Meanwhile, adidas has unveiled its first away kit of its new record breaking deal following a reveal at Base Brixton.
The away shirt will be debuted in the Premier League’s first ever Friday night fixture this week against Aston Villa.
The new look shirts will be launched as part of the “Break Expectations” campaign, released by adidas to demonstrate the start of a new era for the football club.
