Premier League champions Manchester City have signed a multi-year extension of their partnership with Electronic Arts (EA) Sports.

City first partnered with the video game developer in 2011, in a deal that includes content and digital experiences.

City’s men’s and women’s teams will continue to feature in the EA Sports FC game for its latest edition, EA Spots FC 25, which is set to launch internationally on 27th September.

Last year, the Citizens’ star striker Erling Haaland was the cover athlete for the inaugural edition of the video game series, which launched after EA’s split with FIFA.

Since the collaboration first began, City launched their own esports team in 2016, and fields a EA Sports FC Pro outfit.

“EA Sports have created a true legacy with FC and we are proud to have worked with them across multiple successful campaigns over the years that have authentically engaged our global audience in and off-the-pitch space,” said Peter Laundry, SVP of Partnerships at City Football Group.

“Together we have built a strong collaborative relationship and we are excited to see what the future holds for our partnership.”

James Taylor, Director of FC Partnerships, added, “A 13-year partnership is an incredible milestone, and we are thrilled to extend this partnership further with Manchester City.

“Through the years we’ve been able to collaborate on some iconic footballing moments and having both men’s and women’s teams feature in FC, we’re able to bring fans worldwide closer to the players and club they love.”
