Following their first Premier League title win, Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher has posed with club captain Vincent Kompany to reveal the team’s new kits for the 2012/13 season.

Earlier this season, Manchester-based sportswear company Umbro and City invited fans to come up with ideas to launch the Blues’ new kits, and over the coming weeks, a series of ‘Show Your City’ fan launches will be released; starting with shots captured by music photographer and City fan Kevin Cummins.

Cummins – famous for his images of iconic Manchester bands such as Joy Division, The Smiths and The Stone Roses – captured the shots of Gallagher and Kompany in the defender’s native Belgium.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany said: ‘I always look forward to returning to Belgium but this really was a special occasion and a moment to savour. Noel is obviously a huge star so I was happy to introduce him in front of 80,000 fans in my home country.’

Noel Gallagher added: ‘The new home kit is pure class. It might be the best one we’ve had in a decade. As modern and radical as it is though, it’s nice to see Umbro keeping our heritage alive in the new away kit. The best dressed defending champions of all time? No doubt.’

Both kits are available to pre-order from today, with the away kit available on general sale from 14th July and the home kit on 26th July.

Meanwhile, Warrior has also revealed Liverpool’s new third kit – a striking graphic print over ‘a colour palette of nightshade, orange and white’ according to the official press release.

The new kit will be worn by Liverpool FC during their upcoming UEFA Europa League campaign and selected Barclays Premier League games.

Head of Warrior Football Richard Wright added: ‘Our intention with the new third kit was to create something that broke new ground for Liverpool FC. Warrior has delivered a fearless design concept that steers clear of what’s been done before.’

Liverpool FC captain Steven Gerrard commented: ‘The new third kit is completely different from anything we’ve had at LFC during my time at the Club; it’s part of a new era and is a great design. The players love it.’
