Premier League club Manchester United has confirmed that it is freezing ticket prices next season against the backdrop of ongoing supporter protest against the club’s owners.

The club said the price of attending a match at Old Trafford for members and season-ticket holders would remain priced from £27 to £49 throughout the 2010/11 season.

Fans aged over 65 will continue to pay half the adult price with junior tickets staying at £10.

There has been criticism of the club’s owners, the Glazer family, due to price rises since their takeover in 2005, resulting in many fans joining a protest against the owners and there had been some speculation that further increases were due until this announcement.
