Manchester United have extended their partnership with Japanese video game developer Konami.

As per the renewal, Konami will remain as the Red Devils’ video game partner.

Through the agreement, which was first signed in 2019, the entertainment company retains a range of commercial rights, including player access, media opportunities, club branding and imagery.

The deal also includes rights to recreate United in the eFootball game series.

The extension marks the latest renewal for United, after the Premier League outfit signed a reported £300m extension of their Qualcomm partnership, which will include back of shirt inventory and run until 2029.

Konami will launch an in-game campaign to celebrate the continued collaboration between 15th and 29th August.

Users can receive a free card featuring United captain Bruno Fernandes, and will be able to take 50 lottery spins to win a Paul Scholes card, as well as participating in a club-themed ‘Challenge Event.’

“Manchester United are truly one of the giants of world football, we are proud to have them as part of the eFootball series now and for the next few years thanks to this renewal,” said Naoki Morita, European President of Konami Digital Entertainment.

“To have secured a bright future that will include a multitude of commercial rights and activations is fantastic for Konami and for the eFootball series.

We endeavour to keep evolving our product to bring the best user experience possible.”
