Milan Mandaric, the former owner of FA Premier League club Portsmouth, has
completed his takeover of Coca-Cola Championship side Leicester City.

After protracted talks, the club’s shareholders accepted Mandaric’s offer
although the financial elements of the deal were not revealed.

The 68-year-old Mandaric commented: ‘It will be hard work but this is a great
opportunity. Our future plans are straightforward. First we have to secure our
stability and be sure of staying in this division. Once we have achieved that we
will immediately start planning for next season.’

Leicester were last in the Barclays Premiership in 2004 but Mandaric wants
them back in the top flight by 2010.
