Liverpool Football Club has signed a multi-territory sponsorship deal with Marathonbet, which will see the gaming company become an official betting partner of the club.

The new regional deal will cover marketing rights around the world bar Australia, Brazil, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and the continent of Asia.

The club already has betting deals in place with Betfair, which is the club’s official betting and gaming partner in the UK, Spain, Ireland, Denmark, Bulgaria and Italy; 188Bet, whose rights cover Brazil and Asia; and ComeOn! in Scandinavia.

The deal grants Marathonbet stadium branding at Anfield, access to first team players and further exposure through Liverpool’s digital platforms.

Shaun Simmonds, head of sponsorship at Marathonbet, said: “This stands as a milestone in the history of Marathonbet. Liverpool Football Club is one of the most famous sporting organisations in the world, and we’re extremely confident that this partnership will help Marathonbet become an increasingly recognised brand on a global level.

“We couldn’t be more excited to connect much further with the Liverpool fans, who are among the most passionate and engaged fans in the world of sport.”

Billy Hogan, chief commercial officer, Liverpool FC added: “We are delighted to welcome Marathonbet to LFC’s betting family. I am sure that their odds and special offers will appeal to our fans and we look forward to the 2015/16 season with them on board.”

Financial terms of the new deal with Marathonbet have not been disclosed but the three-year agreement is one of the company’s biggest sponsorship deals to date, complementing its existing football sponsorships with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
