Manchester United partner Marriott Bonvoy will offer fans the chance to ‘appear’ on the pitchside advertising boards at Old Trafford as part of a new campaign.
United’s Official Hotel Loyalty Partner will place the names of fans from around the world on perimeter boards at Premier League games throughout the rest of the 2020/21 season. The brand says the names of the first will appear at the side of the Old Trafford pitch during the Red Devils’ Premier League game against Chelsea on 24th October.
The competition is part of the brand’s ‘Week of Wonders’ campaign, which runs between the 8th and 15th October, and aims to provide Marriott Bonvoy members with seven days of exclusive offers and travel inspiration.
According to Marriott, the campaign seeks to bring the pleasures of travel and hotel stays into people’s own homes, while much travel is still curtailed. Each day during the week will focus on a different ‘Wonder’ – ranging from travel offers at Marriott Bonvoy hotels, to other attempts to recreate hotel getaways at home, such as hotel bed linens, scents, robes and ‘interior touches’.
“As sports fans have been unable to travel to watch their teams play for much of 2020, we are offering these fans and our members from around the world the chance to win an incredible experience at Old Trafford this Autumn, which enables them to travel to see their team in spirit, at a time when they can’t support the team in person,” said Neal Jones, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, EMEA, Marriott International.
“We usually host hundreds of our Marriott Bonvoy members each season at Old Trafford. This pitchside appearance from afar is just one of many unique experiences on offer during our Week of Wonders, which we hope will help to inspire people to travel once again – when the time is right.”
The brand says its members will receive a bonus entry to the competition, allowing them to nominate themselves or a family member or friend, and increase their chances of winning.
