Talent agency M&C SaatchiMerlin, whose clients include Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff, Jamie & Louise Redknapp and Mo Farah, has acquired three60 Sports Management – whose current talent pool includes double Olympic Champion Victoria Pendleton CBE, who will join M&C SaatchiMerlin’s roster.
The acquisition builds on M&C SaatchiMerlin’s move into managing the commercial & brand interests of current elite athletes, following their signing earlier this year of double Olympic and World Champion Mo Farah, with three60’s managing director Chris Evans-Pollard taking up the position of head of athlete management.
Richard Thompson, chairman of M&C SaatchiMerlin commented: ‘Chris’s experience and reputation are qualities that will immediately add value to M&C SaatchiMerlin Worldwide. This move signals our ambition to broaden our offering and expand rapidly within the 25 international offices of the M&CSaatchi group network.’
Chris Evans-Pollard, managing director of three60 Sports Management added: ‘I am very excited to be joining M&C SaatchiMerlin and working with Richard and his team. I strongly believe the extensive expertise available within the agency and the wider M&C Saatchi Group will provide a unique commercial and brand management opportunity for current athletes. I look forward to building on the agency’s huge success to date.’
Victoria Pendleton CBE commented: ‘I am really pleased to be joining M&C SaatchiMerlin with Chris (Evans-Pollard) who has done such a good job of managing my life off the bike since 2007. As I move into the next stage of my career it is going to be great to have the support of M&C SaatchiMerlin who are so accomplished at developing the careers of ex-athletes.’
