McCain Foods is launching a £1m consumer campaign to help mums get their children active this summer as part of its partnership with UK Athletics.
The campaign, which launches on 19th July, will be fronted by Sheree Murphy and see McCain give away 100 packs of Garden Games every day for eight weeks via a dedicated website www.mccaingardengames.co.uk.
This Garden Games promotion comes off the back of McCain’s five year £5m partnership with UK Athletics to get families active.
The games are based on the basic elements of athletics – run, jump and throw – and feature a stopwatch and four running cones, four jumping sacks and two mega-howlers to throw at a target as well as different game ideas for using these in the garden or local park.
The Garden Games website features videos and instructions with downloadable certificates.
McCain is also working with existing McCain UK athletics ambassador Sally Gunnell, who will be providing athletics tips on the website to help mums get the most out of the Garden Games.
This campaign launch follows the success of the McCain Track & Field roadshows, which visit cities across the UK to encourage youngsters to try out athletics which attraced 15,000 people last year.
Through its five-year, £5m partnership with UK Athletics signed in 2008, McCain owns the domestic athletic competitive structure.
