Champion jockey AP McCoy has agreed a new deal to remain as an ambassador for Cheltenham Racecourse for the 2014/15 season, which starts this Friday.
As part of the deal, brokered by AP’s representatives at Lloyd Burns Management, the jockey’s image will be used on billboards and advertising material to promote The Festival at Cheltenham in 2015 and will take part in interviews with national publications to promote The Festival in March.
He will also make appearances at different events hosted by Cheltenham throughout the season, outside of racedays, entertaining their annual members with Q&A sessions.
AP commented: ‘The Festival is one of my favourite race meetings of the season and one that all jockeys, trainers and owners want to have a winner at. It means a lot to me riding there. I thoroughly enjoyed being an ambassador for the course last season and look forward to working with them again over the next six months.’
Sophia Brudenell, communications manager for south west region of Jockey Club Racecourses, added: ‘It’s great having AP with us again this season, especially with all continuing development at the course. It’s an exciting time for us and he’s a pleasure to work with.’
