Sport Industry Socials is an exciting new series of informal networking opportunities happening throughout 2022. Each event will focus on trending topics and is ideal for anyone who wants to expand their knowledge and network at the same time.

In the first Sport Industry Socials event of the year – entitled ‘Finding A Fanbase’ – leading figures representing sports on different stages of their journeys – emerging, established and traditional – discuss the challenges of finding and retaining fans in a crowded marketplace.

Joining the panel on 7th July, is Willie Cruickshank. An RAF fighter pilot for 26 years, who retired as a Group Captain, Willie spent nine years as a display pilot with the UK-based Wildcat Aerobatics team before joining the Red Bull Air Race Head of Aviation & Sport in 2018.

Willie now heads up the re-imagined Air Race as Race Series Director. The championship is returning to the sporting calendar after a three-year hiatus and brings with it new management, technology and formats.

“I am really looking forward to being part of the first Sports Industry Socials event next month and the opportunity to meet and discuss topics of mutual interest with fellow panellists and members of the audience,” said Cruickshank. “This is a very challenging but exciting time for Air Race as we prepare to launch the new World Championship series and I’m delighted to be able to share some of the highs and lows of our three-year journey since picking up the baton from Red Bull.”

The first Sport Industry Socials event ‘Finding A Fanbase’ will take place at The HKX Building in Pancras Square on Thursday 7th July. At present, attendance at Sport Industry Socials events is only open to Sport Industry Members.
