Manchester Evening News has signed up as the first commercial partner for the
FINA World Swimming Championships being staged in the city next April.
The deal, brokered by sports marketing agency Fast Track, will see the
Manchester Evening News provide extensive editorial coverage of the
championships while also helping advertise the event to boost sales of the
75,000 seats available over 10 sessions in five days.
Fast Track also announced that is on the verge of another four commercial
deals for the event which will be the first FINA World Swimming Championships of
its kind ever to be staged in the UK.
The FINA World Championships take place from Wednesday 9th April 2008 to
Sunday 13th April 2008, with over 650 athletes from 120 different countries
taking part in the five day event.
With two huge temporary pools being built in the MEN Arena, the event will be
Manchester’s biggest sporting competition since the Commonwealth Games in
2002.
