Candy brand Mentos has been announced as the official sponsor for the inaugural Rugby Aid 2015 taking place at Twickenham Stoop on Friday 4th September, following the successful format of the football equivalent, Soccer Aid.

Joining BT Sport, The Sun, Harlequins RFC and Canterbury as an official sponsor, Mentos will have its logo featured on the posts and cross-bars, in what is believed to be a UK branding first.

The charity match, in aid of Rugby For Heroes, will see England take on the Rest of the World at the home of Harlequins RFC, with both teams featuring former professional rugby players, sporting stars and celebrities. The charity raises funds and awareness through the sport of rugby, the fan community and the wider professional player network, to support military personnel who are making the transition back to civilian life.

Rugby World Cup winner and Rugby For Heroes patron Mike Tindall MBE, will captain the England team joined by old team mates Ugo Moyne, Jason Leonard MBE, Neil Black MBE, Josh Lewsey MBE and Iain Balshaw. Also pulling on the England jersey will be McBusted drummer Harry Judd, Made in Chelsea’s Jamie Laing, JLS’ JB Gill and England’s strongest man Terry Hollands.

Welsh rugby hero Shane Williams MBE will lead the Rest of the World squad which includes rugby legends such as New Zealand’s Brad Thorne and Irishman Shane Byrne, TV presenters Gethin Jones and Matt Johnson and Invictus actor Julian Lewis Jones.
