Mitre and Thomas Lyte have awarded Golden Ball trophies to the top scorers in Emirates FA Cup and Adobe Women’s FA Cup competitions.
The trophies have formed part of a collaboration between Mitre and Thomas Lyte that began in 2021/22, marking the 150th anniversary of the FA Cup.
The Golden Ball Awards have recognised the leading goal scorers across the men’s and women’s tournaments, from the earliest qualifying rounds through to the final.
Each trophy has been produced by Thomas Lyte, Official Trophy and Silverware Supplier to The FA.
The Golden Ball has replicated the design of the season’s official Mitre match ball and has been gilded in 24-carat gold. Every piece has been handcrafted in London using a combination of traditional silversmithing and modern 3D techniques.
Thomas Lyte is the Official Partner of the Sport Industry Awards and the designer and maker of its trophies for almost two decades.
Beth Fletcher-Hunt, Senior Marketing Manager at Mitre, said, “The creation of the Mitre Golden Ball trophies brings together Mitre’s legacy and cutting-edge innovation in football, alongside Thomas Lyte’s globally recognised craftsmanship in elite trophy making.
“This collaboration delivers something truly unique—a trophy that not only reflects sporting excellence, but also celebrates the full breadth of English football.”
