Mongoose has been appointed to handle the UK retained communications for Wattbike and SPENGLE Carbon.

Wattbike welcomes Mongoose on board to handle the PR around its latest product development – the Wattbike Atom; a fully connected smart bike – as well as cement the brand’s position in sports performance.

SPENGLE Carbon, an advanced bike wheel, has joined the agency to develop its digital channels, before implementing a full PR and social communications programme from January 2018, across the UK and Europe.

Richard Baker, managing director at Wattbike, said: “It was an honour to be shortlisted for The Sunday Times’ Fast Track Ones to Watch 10 and we are very proud to have Wattbike named alongside such an inspiring, innovative group of brands. We are at an exciting point in our evolution as a brand and it’s the perfect time to bring a fresh agency on board, like Mongoose, to help us elevate our presence and realise our communications goals.”

Martin Cox, head of marketing at SPENGLE Carbon, said: “Mongoose is an agency that I have worked with for many years in the influencer space and have always been impressed by their professionalism and levels of client communications. It was clear that when this opportunity with Spengle Carbon came up Mongoose were absolutely my first choice when looking for communications support. As well as being experts in PR and social, the Mongoose team are cycling experts and really know their stuff, which makes a big difference in this industry.”

Jo Long-Pockett, associate director, Mongoose Sports & Entertainment added: “We are thrilled to welcome two incredibly exciting new clients to the Mongoose cycling division. Cycling and mass participation are deeply rooted in the team here in both a personal and professional sense, and it forms one of the largest divisions of our Comms business; also working with the likes of Bosch electronic bikes, Zwift and Blaze. It’s truly exciting to welcome two more cutting-edge brands in to the portfolio and we will look forward to rolling out full communications plans for them in 2018.”
