Sport & Entertainment agency Mongoose has announced its appointment by Six Day London to handle UK communications for the track-cycling event.

The competition, held annually since 2015 at the Lee Valley Velopark in east London, is part of a global series combining elite track racing with a party atmosphere.

Mongoose’s brief will see it responsible for generating buzz ahead of this year’s edition, which is scheduled to take place at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, from the 23rd to the 28th October.

James Durbin, chief executive officer of global rights holder Madison Sport Group, explained the decision to work with Mongoose, saying: “The agency’s experience and expertise put them in the perfect position to help elevate Six Day’s profile and draw a new audience in to track cycling.

“Mongoose are a great fit for the brand and we look forward to progressing to even bigger and better things.”

Welcoming the appointment, Jo Long-Pockett, associate director, Mongoose Sports & Entertainment said: “We are delighted to be working with such a prestigious event as Six Day London and further expand the cycling division here at Mongoose.”

A launch party last month saw Six Day London unveil some of the riders for 2018, who include Andy Tennant, Max Levy, Chris Latham and Lydia Boylan.

A host of sponsors were also announced, including SONY, which has been revealed as the Official Consumer Technology Partner, and Amstel, which returns once again as the Official Beer Partner.
