Monster Energy has extended its partnership with NSE (National Student Esports) in a deal that will run until the end of the 2022/23 academic year.

Monster will continue its support of the British University Esports Championship (BUEC) as the official energy drink partner for NSE, with the two organisations having first partnered in 2019.

Over the 2021/22 academic year, BUEC has seen 2,100 teams from more than 100 UK universities battle to earn points across a number of esports titles with the aim to be crowned Esports University of the Year. In addition to the core competition, Monster seeks to support esports and gaming societies on campuses across the UK.

Activations include Monster Plays, whereby students shout out for the drink in live gameplay, and NSE Unleashed, a social media campaign that sees students show their love for all things Monster across their social channels. Monster Drops has also become a key element of NSE’s live broadcasts as the community reacts to the action on NSE’s Twitch channel in a bid to win Monster prizes.

To mark the renewal of the partnership, NSE and Monster have released a new highlights reel showing highlights of their four-year association.

This year, the BUEC Spring Final will take place at Insomnia Gaming Festival at the NEC in Birmingham from 15th – 18th April.
