David Morgan, chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board is one of two
nominees for the presidency of the International Cricket Council.

Morgan will battle it out with his Indian counterpart Sharad Pawar for the
term of office for which a nominations committee will make their recommendations
to the ICC in March.

The successful candidate must receive two thirds of the votes from the 10
full members at the annual ICC conference, to be held in London in June.

Current president Percy Sonn took up his role in March 2006 and the ICC may
decide to retain him for a third year.

Pawar, also India’s agriculture minister, took over the reins of the BCCI in
2005 and is hopeful of securing the influential sub-continent vote.

Morgan, understood to enjoy the backing of Australia and New Zealand, has
held his ECB role since 2003, and begins his next term of office next April.
