Morrisons has replaced Bupa as the new title sponsor of the Great Run series, after signing a four-year deal with race organisers Nova International.
The deal also has an option to extend beyond the initial four-year term.
In total the British Supermarket retailer will support all 12 mass participation events in the Great Run series, including the title sponsorship of the nationally renowned Great North Run, as well as any more added within the term of the deal.
According to media reports, Morrisons will retain its entertainment sponsorship deals with television personalities Ant and Dec, the Saturday Night Takeaway show, and Britain’s Got Talent, but will use the Great Run series deal to promote its marketing position of being a fresh food-led, value-based retailer.
