Mp & Silva Secures European NFL Rights

The National Football League (NFL) has signed a five-year deal with rights marketing agency MP & Silva, who will distribute television and select digital rights across 42 countries in Europe.

The deal, which does not cover the UK, features the 2015 NFL season through to the completion of the 2019 season.

The packages also include NFL television and digital simulcast broadcasts of pre-season and regular season games, all playoff games, the Pro Bowl, and the Super Bowl, as well as NFL Red Zone, NFL Network programming and calendar events such as the NFL Draft.

MP & Silva chief commercial officer Roberto Dalmiglio, said: “We are glad that the NFL recognises our leadership in the market and we are looking forward to using our network of broadcasters to increase coverage and drive new audiences to America’s top sport.”

As well as the UK, significant European territories not bundled into the deal include Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

The 42 territories included in the deal are made up of the following: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and the Vatican City.
