Jockey Club Live, which promotes large-scale live music events at racecourses around the UK, has announced the appointment of music industry veterans Tim Clark and David Enthoven to its board.

Clark and Enthoven, the co-founders of international artist management company ie:music, who count Robbie Williams, Passenger, Will Young and Lemar among their roster of clients, have now joined the company as investors and non-executive directors.

Launched earlier this year, Jockey Club Live is a joint venture between Jockey Club Racecourses, the UK’s largest racecourse group, and music & live entertainment specialists Live at the Races, which is a new business established by Andrew Wilkinson and Simon Halden, who between them have worked with numerous international artists including Elton John, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Take That and Kylie Minogue among others.

Wilkinson is the founder of concert tour production and management company KingStreet Tours, while Halden founded Sports & Outdoor Media International PLC and The Frontiers Group.

Jockey Club Live was established to increase the popularity and commercial success of live music events at the 15 Jockey Club-owned racecourses around the UK.

Over 30 events are scheduled for the 2014 summer season with shows from artists such as Tom Jones, Dizzee Rascal, Jessie J, Wet Wet Wet, James Blunt, Status Quo, The Beach Boys and Kaiser Chiefs taking place at venues such as Newmarket, Epsom, Sandown and Doncaster  among others.

As well as investment, Clark and Enthoven will bring live music expertise and wider music industry experience to the company. They will play a key role in the strategic planning and positioning of Jockey Club Live.

Andrew Wilkinson, CEO of Jockey Club Live, said of the deal: ‘We are delighted to welcome our new investors Tim Clark and David Enthoven to the board of Jockey Club Live. Their unrivalled knowledge of the global music industry, particularly their long experience of planning and executing major live music events, backed up by decades of success, will be invaluable to us.’

Tim Clark, co-founder of ie:music, added: ‘David and I have worked successfully with both Andrew and Simon for many years and know that they have great vision and the ability to deliver great events. We have invested in what we think is a very sound commercial opportunity and are very excited about the possibilities for building on the existing success of live music at The Jockey Club’s racecourses.’
