The National Basketball Association has announced that NBA 3X, the league’s global 3-on-3 basketball tournament, will be returning to the UK with events in London and Manchester this July.
Atlanta Hawks center and two-time NBA All-Star Al Horford will highlight the free interactive fan experience in London’s Ducketts Common on 13th to14th July.
Horford will return to the capital with his Atlanta Hawks team as they take on the Brooklyn Nets in a regular-season game at The O2 on 16th January as part of the NBA Global Games London 2014.
Following London, NBA 3X will visit Manchester’s City Square at the Etihad, on 19th to 20th July, and will feature one of the league’s top defenders, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Serge Ibaka.
Ibaka’s visit to Manchester comes ahead of the Thunder’s trip to the city for a preseason game against the Philadelphia 76ers on 8th October as part of NBA Global Games Manchester 2013.

NBA 3X combines a competitive 3-on-3 basketball tournament with free interactive basketball activities, including the adidas Skills Challenge Court, the Foot Locker pop-a-shots, and the StubHub Knockout competition. The NBA 3X experience also includes autograph sessions, music and live DJ’s, NBA merchandise giveaways, prizing and much more.
The 3-on-3 tournament comprises of teams of four players and is open for boys and girls of all skill levels in the following categories: under-12, under-14, under-16, under-18, and an 18+ open category.
