British oil company Castrol has been revealed as the official motor oil partner of the NBA and WNBA, through a new multi-year partnership.
Under the agreement, Castrol will serve as an entitlement partner of NBA Rising Stars game, the annual exhibition game that coincides with the league’s All-Star game, featuring players in their first two seasons.
This season’s Rising Stars fixture will take place on 14th February at San Francisco’s Chase Center, the home of the Golden State Warriors.
The new contract also includes presenting partnership of the NBA Pick’Em activation, which allows fans to fill out their playoff brackets with predictions in order to win prizes.
Castrol will receive on-court media exposure through virtual signage during NBA and WNBA broadcasts, as well as promotion across the leagues’ social and digital platforms.
The deal comes ahead of the 2024/25 NBA season, which tips off on 22nd October.
“We are incredibly excited to team up with NBA and WNBA, two world-leading organizations committed to driving progress,” said Andreas Osbar, CEO of Castrol Americas.
“Through the partnership, we’ll garner inspiration from the world’s best athletes who push boundaries every day and embody what it means to keep moving forward.”
