NBA Celebrates Martin Luther King Day

As part of the league’s celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the NBA is providing international fans the opportunity to watch live games in prime-time as part of ‘Slam Dunk Monday.’  

Fans in 86 countries and territories are being offered up to 11 live games in a record 15 languages.? ?

ESPN UK will air four consecutive games starting at 6pm tonight UK time when GB star Luol Deng and the Chicago Bulls take on the Memphis Grizzlies.? ?

In France, fans will have the opportunity to watch 11 live games through a simultaneous telecast on Sport+ starting with the New York Knicks hosting the Orlando Magic at 7pm, French time.? ?

For the first time D-Smart (Turkey), SportKlub (Pan-Adriatics), AZ Sport (Azerbaijan) and GMG Sport (Georgia) will all air games as part of Slam Dunk Monday, and long-time partners Canal+ Poland, Sky Italia, Sport 5 (Israel) and ESPN International round up the list of broadcasters.? ?

As part of Slam Dunk Monday, certain games will also be streamed live and for free on NBA.tv for fans in Germany, Russia, Australia, Austria, Denmark, Finland Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Japan, and South Korea.  ? ?

The NBA will join its television and digital partners to promote Slam Dunk Monday through on-line and print marketing, editorial and on-air promotion featuring dedicated player greetings together with tune-in alerts and in-game updates on localized Facebook sites.?                       ?

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day marks the birthday of the African-American civil rights activist and is a national holiday in the United States. A total of 11 games are scheduled in the U.S, with the majority starting in the early afternoon.? ?
