Following hot in the footsteps of the NFL, the NBA is to stage an exhibition
match at The O2 Arena in London later on this year.
NBA teams the Boston Celtics and the Minnesota Timberwolves will play a game
at the arena on Thursday, 11 October as part of a European promotional tour.
The tour, which will also involve the Toronto Raptors and Memphis Grizzlies,
will also see the teams stage training camps in Rome, Malaga, Istanbul and
Treviso.
They will also play exhibition games against Euroleague teams in the cities
hosting NBA Europe Live activities.
The NFL announced last month that Wembley is to stage the first ever regular
season game to be played outside of the US. The game, likely to be between the
Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets will take place in September.
