NBA Tour To Climax In London
London will be the climax of the NBA’s European tour this year with the adidas NBA 5 United Tour culminating in the capital in mid-September.
The NBA has unveiled the five European host cities for the adidas NBA 5 United Tour, a grassroots event combining outdoor 5-on-5 tournaments with pick-up games and interactive basketball elements.
The event tips off in Athens, Greece, 20th-21st June, before traveling to Madrid, Spain, 27th-28th June; Rome, Italy, 4th-5th July; Istanbul, Turkey, 11th-12th July; and culminating in London, 12th-13th September.
adidas NBA 5 United is open to both male and female players, aged 10 and over. All skill levels are welcome to register teams of between 5-7 players that will play a minimum of three games. Teams can register at select adidas stores and additional event details can be found at www.5united.nba.com.
This year’s 5 United Tour will feature daily final competitions on Center Court, in addition to the opportunity for spectators to participate various basketball activities, including a three-point shootout and a slam dunk competition.
EA Sports and The Coca-Cola Company will support adidas NBA 5 United at all tour stops. EA Sports will conduct daily competitions with their popular games NBA Live 09, challenging gamers inside the EA Sports Video Arcade and at The Powerade Slam Dunk Court, players can show off their dunking abilities on baskets at varied heights.
