London-based production company and Sport Industry Awards 2022 winner Neo Studios has announced ‘Factory of Dreams’, a four-part documentary that focuses on the legendary training ground and youth academy of Portuguese football club Benfica.

The NEO Studios production – which is set for distribution across the US, Europe, and Asia in the coming weeks – provides unprecedented access to the Benfica Campus, which has been responsible in recent years for developing world-class Portuguese and international stars.

Both current and famous former academy graduates – including António Silva, Henrique Araújo, João Felix, Rúben Dias, Ederson, and João Cancelo – will feature in the series.

Viewers are set to enjoy insights, training methods and global success stories as we delve into the highs and lows that the young talents must experience in making their way to the professional game.

Anouk Mertens, NEO Studios Global CEO, said, “We’re thrilled to be able to work closely with Benfica to portray what makes the Benfica team and Campus such a unique environment. The access they have given the NEO team is unparalleled and I am sure that sports fans across the world will enjoy the inside stories the documentary provides. Especially the how and why young players make the grade at a legendary European giant, but also the talent, dedication, and perseverance this requires.”

Domingos Soares de Oliveira, Benfica CEO, added, “The launch of the documentary produced by NEO Studios, Factory of Dreams, on international platforms allows us to showcase and project the excellence of the work done at Benfica Campus internationally. We have been recognised for this work within our industry and releasing it to a much wider audience is extremely important.”

Neo Studios won the Original Content Series Award at the Sport Industry Awards 2022 for the production of The Giants, the little known story of four Hawaiian former sumo-wrestlers who travelled to Japan as outsiders and became icons of the country’s national sport.
