Yakatak, a football punditry app, has launched as a play for football fans to react to the sport. The app has news straight from the pitch, transfer updates or another manager getting the sacked, Yakatak captures reactions to moments in football and provides a platform to share immediately.
Yakatak keeps fans fully up to date with push notifications on their chosen team – if Chelsea are winning or Rooney just got a yellow card, fans will be able to react using Yakatak’s Stat-Cam. They can react to these moments, through photo and video as the match notification comes through.
With Yakatak fans become pundits and can share their commentary with friends through their social network or messaging app of choice. In addition, their views can be layered with scores, match stats, footy slogans, emojis and more.

The app is a central location for football fans wanting to keep up to date with the latest news, whilst sharing their own views with their friends. The scores feed provides up-to-the-minute live scores on live games, as well as a recap of games from the previous week. ‘Fixtures’ show upcoming games, whilst ‘News Feed’ is constantly updated with the latest industry news.
Ex-footballer and Yakatak consultant Ian Wright, MBE said: “Football is all about the fans. They’re vital at every level, from buying tickets and showing support at games, to investing in TV licenses and sitting in front of the TV at home. Their emotional and financial commitment to their clubs, players and managers is the reason football is the biggest business in the world. Remember Suarez’s handball that saved Uruguay? Zidane’s head butt against Italy in the 2006 World Cup final? Beckham’s goal against Greece in 2001? Imagine being able to capture the reactions of you and your mates at these very moments. That’s why we created Yakatak. Yakatak is at the heart of fan culture and provides a platform for fans to share the moments that matter.”
Simon Davies, CEO and founder of Yakatak, commented: “We know football is just as much about the culture and the atmosphere as it is the goals and that’s what prompted us to create Yakatak. With the advancements in technology and social media, fans are now in the unique position to be able to become the pundits themselves – we see it every single game; newsfeed clogged with individuals thinking they know better than anyone else and constantly questioning the ref’s decision or the manager’s team line-up. This is what inspired us to create Yakatak – one tool for fans to capture their reaction at the moments that matter the most.”
