New Balance has agreed a deal to supply kit to the England cricket team when its current deal with adidas comes to an end next year, according to media reports.
As part of the proposed deal, the American sportswear manufacturer – which designs shirts for Premier League sides Liverpool FC and Stoke City FC – will double the £1m a year paid by adidas.
The five year deal follows England’s search for a partner to replace adidas, after the brand confirmed it would not renew its sponsorship following its £750m a year partnership with Manchester United FC.
England players Joe Root, Ben Stokes and Mark Wood all have personal deals with the company, whilst current Test series opponents, South Africa, have had kit supplied by New Balance since the 2015 World Cup.
adidas has been kit supplier to the England team since 2008 and have one year left on the contract with the side.
