Bicycle manufacturers, Trek, is to sponsor London Duathlon, the run-bike-run event taking place in Richmond Park this September.

The event, which has already sold-out its public places for the 2014 event, was acquired last year by global engagement agency Limelight Sports who now organise and deliver the event.

London Duathlon was first held in 2005 and consists of run-bike-run elements with the choice of four individual challenges, including the Classic (10k run, 44k bike and 5k run), and one team challenge event. Trek will provide guidance for participants as they prepare for their challenge, as well as on event day, showcasing the latest bikes from the Trek range and offering professional bike fitting advice, with experts on-site to answer any cycling-related questions.

‘London Duathlon perfectly demonstrates that participation in multi-sport events grows each year in the UK. Cycling is a significant component of these events, and Trek plays a major role in encouraging more people to take up cycling in the UK,’ said Chris Garrison of Trek UK.

‘We’re pleased to be involved in this event, as it provides a perfect setting for us to showcase the range of bike options we have available for people who are focused on performing well in duathlon.’

Bastien Hibon, marketing director at Limelight Sports, added: ‘Trek is a great bike brand and is a perfect partner for London Duathlon. We know that experiences like London Duathlon, which are accessible to athletes of all abilities will continue to grow in popularity, both in real-life and online, providing a very exciting platforms for brands to engage with.’
