New Barcelona signing, Neymar, has extended his global advertising contract with Panasonic Corporation, renewing a deal that goes back to March 2010 for a further four-years, just one week after his new club also announced a new sponsorship deal with the Japanese brand.

The 21-year-old Brazilian, who shone at the recent Confederations Cup in his home country, was also named by SportsPro as the world’s most marketable athlete for the second successive year earlier this summer.

The striker will act as a global ambassador for Panasonic in its B2C and B2B promotional activities, advertising around the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and CSR programmes.

The new advertising campaign for the company’s B2B solutions will be rolled out in 193 countries, having been launched in Japan this week.

A statement released by Panasonic said the company ‘is aiming to develop a youthful, dynamic and swift global brand image’ by sponsoring Neymar.
